25057 loco feature
In November 2012 the North Norfolk featured 25057 on 6 return trips on 2 consecutive Saturdays. The rat chattered along nicely, her boiler steamed
profusely all day and the 4 coaches in tow were well filled with bashers and a few locals. 25057 started life in preservation locally back in 1988 and by
2012 her largely active preserved career is now about the same as her BR career from 1963-1987. Long may she continue to bring small Sulzer music to Norfolk!

Her stay at Quainton saw her reportedly running again but alleged metal theft here played a factor in her being sold to the North Norfolk Railway in 1991.
5207/25057 on BR, a local history
Delivered new to Toton in June 63 5207 was transferred to Cricklewood to help eliminate steam for a few weeks in July 63. After that she was a rare sight locally as was based at various North West depots plus a few years working out of Laira. Recorded visits to any of our local lines are few and only in the mid 80’s did her local visits become more regular
