Class 319s on the WCML

Despite them only being allocated locally since Sep 2015 the venerable class 319 unit have been regular visitors since the late 90's. At least they offer some variety from the ever dominant class 350 units.

Sample turns..

ECS moves to/from Wolverton Works for refurbishment and new liveries.

Drags from Bedford via Leighton to Bounds Green (during Thameslink blockade)

Connex South Central services from Brighton to Rugby

Replacing the much missed "magnificent seven" class 321 units on very restricted local turns from Sep 2015. Current LM Diagrams here

One way ECS moves locally to take up new duties working from Liverpool/Preston/Manchester Piccadilly

Drags from Hornsey to Long Marston for storage

Sample class 319 phots

070797319008webr.jpg Still in as delivered new NSE livery heres 319008 passing Ledburn Jn at speed with a Brighton - Rugby service on 070797. This useful Connex    South Central hourly service suffered from crew shortages big time.

070797319009webr.jpg In Connex stripes 319009 heads South through Ledburn Jn with a late evening Rugby - Brighton service on 070797

140298319025awebr.jpg The stylish (possibly) Thameslink graffiti was on its way out by 1998. Heres 319025 heading North through Ledburn to Wolverton Works for repainting on 140298

140298319433webr.jpg 319433 heads South from Wolverton after repainting in the dark then new Thameslink livery on 140298.

280616319457webr.jpg Looking good in her old First livery 319457 at St Albans Abbey with a Watford service on 280616

21071737884n319439n008webr.jpg 37884 drag 319439 and channel tunnel celebrity 319008 North through Old Linslade on 210717. Unfortunately these units are bound for storage at Long Marston, lets hope they get work soon. The 319's are now in their final month of service with Thameslink as the vile class 700 units replace them.

240717319367webr.jpg Still takes some getting used to but its now commonplace to see the likes of 319367 working local services out of Manchester Piccadilly as seen here on 240717.

So get out there and phot these BR built units whilst you still can locally. Current LM diagrams here
